A 27 year old fourth year medical student who knits (and stories about what it takes to change from a med student into a physican)
- the house: mine.
- my last day of rotations, and by default my fourth year of medical school: done.
- graduation: 28 days, 12 hours away
- me: exhausted. (and off to take a nap before I hit the road for the Berkshires - the workshop will be worth it, but without some sleep the drive will do me in.)

My parents always said "remember to look for the wonder in life" and I try to keep that in mind every day. Medicine and the human body fascinate me and frustrate me; there is so much to know and so little time for me to learn it in. I used to say that if all else failed I'd become a recluse and teach yoga in the woods. After being out of practice for a few years and trying to jump back into it, it's evident that I'm going to have to pick something else to fall back on, at least until I regain my flexability. I knit. All the time. No, really. I knit in class, I knit on public transportation, I knit in coffeehouses, while in coversations with people, while watching movies/tv and while studying. They don't let me knit during tests which is too bad; I'd probably have a much higher average if they'd let me. (medstudentwhoknits at yahoo dot com)

Congratulations! My DH is just finishing his second year of med school, and through him I am beginning to get a sense of just how much of yourself you have already given to your profession. I am so glad you have a home in which to celebrate, and some fluffy friends to share it with! I hope you will continue your blog even though the title will change!

congratulations on everything kristen. i'm so proud of you. i assume the recent silence from you means you are knitting the shawl 24-7. if not, the yarn must have buried you and you are quietly starving on the kitchen floor of your new home. either way, let me know..... i'll send food or congratulations, whatever is appropriate. please post shawl pics, too.
