a question about sock yarn: This is what I was able to do with one ball of "Sock It To Me" 50g/230 yrds. Is this normal? I thought a ball made one sock, but it appears that with two balls of yarn, I can make three socks. (I feel as though there is something wrong with that, but really I am curious if I'm the only one!) My mom's socks are finished, and she's happy to have them! (of course they were finished and tried on during the hottest week of the summer.......)

Yup, that's pretty normal. It's enough for three normal-sized socks, or a pair for a yeti. Just in case a yeti wants to knit socks. By the way, if you know any sock-loving yeti, let me know, because I have a sock that will fit them. Unfortuantely. :)

Thanks so much for the lovely card and the yummy chocolate. DELISH! You really shouldn't have--the bags for the kids were already too much (though they ADORE THEM and your bear is now the Most Favored Stuffed AnimalTM). Not that I'm complaining. Many hugs.

Isn't this a solution to darning socks? When one sports a hole, toss it (as Kim Salazar recommends [Wiseneedle] and you have the automatic extra. But I'm betting the TSS is even WORSE than SSS. Might be near impossible to supply that activation energy.

I usually knit two normal (if my small, square feet are considered normal) socks and a pair or two of kiddie socks. You just need to find some small people to knit for.

I've always got sock wool leftovers. I figure I'll just make wild mismatched socks with it all one day. I'm really not a knitting matching socks kind of girl anyway.
